Happy Thanksgiving!

Okay, so there's no way I planned to blog almost everyday and there's no way I'll be able to keep this up but I've found myself with a decent amount of down time here in Hawaii. I'll keep going this way probably just long enough to finish the vacation but then i'll probably just fall off the face of the earth. Joking but who knows how things will be after this. c'est la vie, i guess!

Anyway, we started this morning off snorkling at Hanauma bay -- oahu's premiere snorkling area -- and, what can i say? It was amazing! Snorkling above all these gorgeous tropical fish...we even saw a turtle! Yes, A TURTLE! It was seriously less than 5 feet away from us, just chomping away on the coral. Apparently this is where they get food from. It was a day I will not soon forget. AMAZING! We plan to go back in a couple of days and will be armed with a waterproof camera to chronicle our adventures. Hopefully we'll see another turtle, but at the very least there are many cool looking fish to be seen.

Thanksgiving dinner was great! Not knowing what to expect, we met up with Tymmy's boss and some of his friends...basically, we were all strangers to one another ("Orphans" away from home). But it was awesome! I had so much fun talking with these people I had never met before. 3 of them were docked for the day from a Semester at Sea program. They worked as staff on the boat and had basically just finished traveling the world for the past 3 months. How cool would that be?! They had some of the coolest stories. Lots of laughter among pseudo-friends.

So many things to be thankful for this past year! Just a few highlights:

  • Cameron's health! Virtually no sickness!
  • Cameron! What a great baby and a huge blessing! (Lots of exclamation points!!)
  • A fabulous marriage -- 5 years and going strong. We're not perfect, but are committed to each other, and are in it for the long haul. We're a bright burning beacon in a sea of darkness. HAHAHHA...this is a joke but, seriously.
  • Our fabulous friends/support system in Southern California. We love having all of you in our lives
  • Our family, scattered throughout the Pacific NW whom we miss very much!
  • A great church. We lurve our church and realized we will be hard-pressed to find such an awesome church when we move away
  • Jobs that we both enjoy, especially today with all the employment problems in America
I could go on and on, but we have much to be thankful for! Yay for thankfulness! :) Here are some pictures we took today...
