Pretty much the best weekend. Ever.

I’m not kidding! What an awesome weekend.

Yes, we used Valentine’s day as an excuse to get away and spend some much needed quality time together, and so glad we did!
But, before Keith even got home on Saturday (a day late, some sort of math-nerd competition was happening and he was the coach. Go team!), my side of the family invited us to stay at a cabin they rented out at Black Butte Ranch. Neither myself nor my sister had been out there – a little weird since we grew up here and the ranch is just a few miles out of town, but I digress.

Thursday – Saturday afternoon we stayed, just hanging out and enjoying the scenery.

Friday night everyone went night skiing, I volunteered to watch the boys. I figured since I am nearing the end of the first trimester, I’m no longer comfortable with the idea of going. (Although I did go night skiing last month and it was awesome, despite my experience the first time!)

I brought some play-doh along and Jaden and Cam had a lot more fun with it than I expected. It was a life saver!

Saturday afternoon I headed home to clean house and get things ready for Keith’s arrival that evening. I was sooo ready for the week to be over and spend time together as a family! At this point, I’m ready for our little arrangement to be over. LAME. Only 17 weeks left of school (5 til Spring Break) – we’ve done it this long, what’s a few more weeks, right?

Saturday night Jaden and Cameron had a sleepover at our house while Matt and Steph had a date night in celebration of Valentine’s day. So of course Sunday was our day/night to be Valentine’s! We splurged this year and got a room at the nearby Phoenix Inn and Suites – the spa suite! It was so nice and relaxing to have dinner at a nice place and then go back to a quiet room and chill, watching the Olympics. This was Keith and I’s TENTH Valentine’s Day together. Crazy to think how far we’ve come and how much our lives have changed since we were “crazy” teenagers.

The next day we were ready to get back to Cameron – we missed our little guy!

Now he just loooooves his puzzles. It’s funny to watch him slowly and methodically work his way through one. He’s getting really good! But since he’s a Clayton I’m pretty sure he’s genetically predisposed to liking these.

  1. Looks like a fun weekend! 10 years...that's amazing. And to think that I knew you when you were "crazy teenagers". Blessings to you both!

  2. Does Keith have a different (closer) job for next year or is he looking? I know it is hard to not have your husband around to help out during the week!
