fun fact Friday

*This is our 100th post. Neat-o!

*Our job search in Oregon is in full swing. Ideally, we would each find a decent/good job, but in this economy we are just hoping for one job with benefits. I have found a couple of jobs I am qualified for and am in the process of applying. Keith is starting to feel more confident that teaching positions will pop up as the school year draws to a close. Don't get me wrong, this is very scary!!!

*Oversized, fat cats scare the crap out of me. I am not joking.

*Since we've moved in with the Millsoms (It's been about 6 weeks) Cameron has popped out 4 molars and is now working on another tooth. I feel like I haven't slept in months!

* I am watching WifeSwap. This lady is smoking crack. Where do they find these people? Serioulsy?

*I can't think of anything else....

Thank you Jesus for putting Jannae Thompson in my life. What would I do without her? She wanted to add some stuff. Thanks, Jannae! This blog post was looking pretty sad without your ideas. :) I hope everyone has a great weekend!

"I will miss my friend Jannae the most out of all my friends in Cali!"

"My son Cameron is in love with Baylee"

"I have an addiction to iced coffee and mochie"

"I just got my hair cut and died and it looks F to the abulous!" (Well, I do like how it looks especially after the stylist straightened it. It's one of the few times a year I get my frizz tamed)

5.25.2009

No matter what, the following did NOT happen this past week:

  • I did not watch Baylee while J. did some much needed work for our church. It was not TAX stuff. BORING!
  • Cameron did not, as usual, smother Baylee. I did not turn around at one point to find Cam had totally pinned poor, helpless Baylee to the floor and she was NOT screaming for help! This did not make me feel like babysitter of the year when her panicked mom came running out of the office to find my son on top of her daughter!
  • The girls did not go on a walk and Norman Gentle did not make an appearance....No, he's much to popular to join us
  • We did not sell our car this weekend! We have not had it on Craigslist since JANUARY (Yes you read that right) and after less than a week on autotrader we did not get rid of the beast!
  • Keith did not spend FOUR hours with the guy who was trying to thoroughly evaluate our car...I did not seriously text Keith the following: "Did he kidnap you? Did you die?"
  • I did not notice Cameron had been changed into a swim diaper (left over from our trip to the beach) during church. It was not a total girl diaper, pink with DORA! I was not wondering what the sweet woman who changed his diaper must have been thinking when she pulled that out of Cameron's diaper bag....

[what a manly man! pink is Cam's color]
  • We did not go to Victoria Gardens today for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and a play date with the Thompsons and Spencers

[Ev is just taking it all in]
  • This is not Everest's stick of butter he was eating as an appetizer
  • The six of us did not crowd into the caboose on the train at V. Gardens

[Cam loved it but the train was a little rickety and making me feel sick]
  • The massage chairs at Brookstone were not hurting me (are they supposed to do that?)

  • I am not having issues formatting these pictures, but feeling too lazy to fix them!

Lazy Saturday

Aren't 3- day weekends FABULOUS? I think so.
Photobucket
This part of the year is the BEST - SoCal nights are awesome in May and June just before it gets melt-your-shoes-to-the-pavement hot. Last night we decided just to chill in the back yard and take it all in. Time for a...

Fun fact friday

Okay, I will try not to make this L.A.M.E. so here goes:

*When Melissa was little, in the first house I can remember our step-dad built us this rad tree house. It had 4 walls, no roof and I remember a purple and beige colored straw mat on the floor - a souvenir from our step-grandparents who lived for a short time in Africa

*When Keith was in grade school he decided to do a belly slide on the cafeteria floor (think seals), that's how he chipped his front tooth

*Cameron has a chipped tooth in the SAME place as Keith - we don't know how this happened but sometimes he likes to grind his teeth together. This grinding sound is ten times worse than nails on a chalkboard.

*We tried Golden Spoon frozen yogurt for the first time last night. We were NOT impressed.

* I could really go for an iced coffee right now.

*My first time on an airplane was when I was 16.

*Keith was in boy scouts for most of his boyhood. During the summers he often went on 50 miler hikes (yes, FIFTY flippin' miles!). He had to pack a backpack with everything he'd need for the hike, including sleeping stuff - I think the trip was about a week.

*Okay I TOTALLY just got sidetracked looking at this trashy website listing just a bunch of stupid and FUNNY text messages. I'm done now.

Not me Monday

[for the scoop on NMM, check out MyCharmingKids.net]

No matter what happens, the following did NOT happen to our little family:

1. No I have not desperately been trying to fight off a cold last week. My body would never have given up and just let this bug take over. I did not seriously injure my back this evening during a violent sneeze.

2. We did not host a BBQ with the Millsoms for some of our friends Saturday. It did not turn out to be very fun and everything we wanted. Our friends are not awesome for showing up to our soiree.

[Michelle & Ev | Jannae wants the world to know
she can make this face and still be beautiful]

[Cam & Ev are sk8trs for life | what a gentleman pushing his lady along]

3. The girls did not take up walking this week and we did not undo all of our walk by going to the frozen yogurt shop. No way!

4. I am not irritated with myself for taking 194 pictures this weekend. Who does that? Seriously.

[Sweet helmet, dude!]

5. Sunday was not super busy. After church I would not have hurried home to get ready for Christina's baby shower (no, I was not sure if this day would ever come and not super happy that it will!) and leave early to go to Ainsley's first birthday party!

6. Ainsley's party was not at Tumble Tots and it was not so thoughtful of her parents to think of Cameron. Cameron did not have an awesome time there...and was definitely not running around nearly the entire 2 hours we were there! We do not want to publicly thank the Steins for hosting such a super-fun party! (No, they don't have 4 kids and definitely don't know how to throw an awesome birthday bash - I don't think they've had much practice :)

[snack time at the party!]

7. Cameron did not get the best "thanks for coming to my party" parting gift: a bubble stick! We did not spend nearly an hour in the yard after the party while he chased bubbles around. No way, Jose.

[The bubble stick was awesome!]

8. During the party I did not notice this cute little accessory on Sandy's camera. I do not covet one for myself...BADLY. I am not going to hold out for my birthday - HINT for the hubby! :)

Captain Safety!

Cameron is definitely a skater. It was bound to happen. Keith has been trying to make him love the board since birth - that's an exaggeration but, still. Last night we found a helmet and some pads (intended for a 3+ year old - his head must be huge) and strapped him in er, on.

the little boo-boo was from an accident involving the driveway and his face. It was not skateboard-related but it would only be a matter of time. Check out the picture with him skateboarding (yes, moving!) and balancing by himself! Definitely a daddy's boy!

Newport Beach

I realized just recently that I completely forgot to put pictures up from our night (Friday) spent in Newport Beach. We got a really great deal at the Hyatt there, and the room was amazing. Especially the, ahem - bed. It was so comfortable! Before we left I made sure to take pictures of the tag on the bed and pillows in hopes of recreating the comfort. I loved laying there on the bed and watching the flatscreen while Cameron ran around the room, checking out his pad for the night. It was probably also good for Colin and Katie to get some peace and quiet without us at their home.

I know you've been sitting on the edge of your seat in anticipation of this moment. So - drumroll, please - here they are...

[being skater punks on the pier]

Oh, and have you seen these? Since I've never posted them my guess is probably not :) Saturday was such a nice night so we spent time with the roomies and their family and discovered just how much this kid loves corn. Keith handed him the whole cob and he just devoured it. He also enjoyed boozing it up.

[nothing like a cold brewsky on a hot night]
